To promote awareness of driving safety among teens, the Center started a series of driving safety training at the local Chinese schools this summer. On May 6th , patrol Sergeant Paul of City of Plano came to the classroom of Hua-Hsin Chinese School to talk about driving safety. He told students that wearing seat belt is not only required by law but also the most important life saver. He talked about things to watch for while driving. His engaging speech sent a serious messages to a roomful of teens.
On May 19th the second seminar was held at the Chinese Youth Leadership Camp at DFW Technology Inc. by Patrol Officer Paul Hansen of City of Richardson to a group students of age 16 to 18. Most of them are driving already. He told students to avoid 4 D’s which is drink and drive, distraction, and drowsiness among other safety tips. The 3rd seminar is scheduled on June 23 at the Chinese Youth Camp.
The Center will open adult drivers safety training class soon. The purpose is to help new immigrants and anyone who need to take drivers exam. The class will be conducted in Chinese and English. Please contact the Center for more information.
