  1. Dallas Chinese Community Center 2021 Youth Drawing Competition Winners announced

DCCC wants to encourage students to use their imagination and creativity during the pandemic. DCCC hosted the annual Youth Drawing competition to encourage students to use their drawing to express their dream and strengthen their love for art and creativity.

DCCC invited 4 very qualified judges to judge the artwork submitted by students from K to 12th grade. Our judges are Amber Preston, teacher of Allen Marion Elementary School; Sammensa Liu, former art teacher of Hua-Hsing Chinese School; Suzuko Davis, art teacher of St. Mark’s School and Karlin Lee, designer for DCCC calendar & event poster. DCCC really appreciate the judges for their time and effort.

All our judges are impressed with the submitted artwork. They think each one is unique and creative, and they shared that it was difficult to select the winners. Due to the winter storms in Dallas, some groups did not have enough submission to reach the minimum participation, so we had to adjust the prize amounts accordingly. Here are the selected winners:
    Group A (Kindergarten & 1st Grade):
First Place: Catherine Cai $100; 2nd place: Isabella Zhao $80; 3rd place: Aiden Guo $50。
    Group B (2nd & 3rd Grade):
First Place: Natalie Ng $100; 2nd Place: Allison Chan$80; 3rd Place: Wynn Lee $50。
    Group C (4th & 5th Grade):
First Place: Jolian Chen $80; 2nd Place: Rayhaan Rizvon $50。
    Group D (6th to 8th Grade):
First Place Claire Liu $80; 2nd Place: Maggie Li $50。
    Group E (9th to 12th Grade):
First Place: Kunhee Lee & Sophie Yan, each will get $80

All winners will be getting a certificate and prize money, and their artwork will be featured on the DCCC website in April. The award ceremony information will go out to the winners later.
